Zagora is the biggest village of Pelio, situated 47km. north-eastern of Volos. In Zagora, several important personalities received their schooling, including the hero of the War of Independence of 1821, Rigas Velestinlis or Fereos. The visitor may find here various tavernas offering great local plates, as well as some hotels, rooms to let and cafeterias.
