Volos is the capital town of Magnissia, situated at the foot of mountain Pelio, next to the Pagasitic Gulf. It is an important industrial and trade center, as well as the most significant port of the central Greek mainland, the third largest one in Greece. Volos is a cheerful, lively town with pleasant commercial streets and a population of approximately 145,000 inhabitants. The waterfront is ideal for those wishing to have a coffee or something to eat. Of course, the town offers all kinds of facilities (hotels and apartments).It is, also, the home to the University of Thessaly.
