Vassilika Istieas is situated 94km. away from Chalkida. It is a picturesque village with all houses following the traditional architectural style. It is believed that the settlement owns its name to the royal ships of Xerxis which anchored off the beach Psaroupoli during the naval battle of Artemissio. The word Vassilika actually means «royal» in Greek.
The inhabitants of the village are mainly engaged in tourism, agriculture and fishing. The long beach of Psaropouli is ideal for swimming and relaxation, with crystal clear waters.
