The town of Tinos, (also known as Chora), is situated in the southwestern part of the island with traditional old houses and narrow alleys. It is also the main harbor of the island. 75 per cent of the population of Tinos lives in Chora and 90 per cent of the touristy activity is concentrated here.
The oldest main street, called Evangelistrias, has a beautiful 18th century marble fountain with impressive carvings. There, the visitor can find various commercial shops, cafeteria, tavernas etc.
