Skala: Skala is the main harbor of Patmos and the biggest and most populated settlement. Skala village is located in the central part of the island, 3km. northeast of Chora. Skala started developing during the 19th century. Before that period it was insecure due to the frequent pirate raids.
Taverns, restaurants, bars, cafes and shops of all kinds can be found here. Fishing boats offer various daily excursions to small beaches and nearby islands.
