The island of Salamina is the largest one in the Saronic Gulf, situated only 1 nautical mile away from the port of Piraeus. It has a total area of 36sq. km. and its highest peak is called Mavrovouni, (meaning «black mountain» in Greek), (365m. high).
All beaches are ideal for swimming with crystal clear waters, some of the best being those of Resti, Kiriza and Kolona. The visitor can find in Salamina all kinds of facilities, such as hotels, apartments, cafeterias, taavernas, nightclubs and commercial shops.
