Rhodos Town



The Town of Rodos is one of the biggest municipalities of the Greek islands. It is the financial and cultural center of the southeastern Aegean, combining a lively present with a historical past. The town offers to the visitor a great variety of entertainment, such as night life, sports, cultural events, shopping and many others. The best place to start exploring the town is Cyprus Square, in Greek known as Platia Kyprou. Around the square one can find numerous boutiques, jewelry shops and banks.

But which is the main characteristic of Rhodos Town? The fact that it presents to all two sides. One is the Old Town, best preserved medieval town in whole Europe, surrounded by walls, castles, churches and the Palace of the Knights. The other one is the New Town with traditional streets, luxurious hotels and tourists shops. Most of the buildings here date from the Italian rule, adorned according to the neo-Gothic and Venetian architectural style.
