The town of Psara is the only settlement of the island, amphitheatrically built around the port. All houses have the traditional architectural style, just like the rest of the houses in the Aegean.
The small town is built on the ruins of the old city, near the hill of Mavri Rachi, (Paleokastron), that was totally destroyed in 1824.
