Pachia Ammos (the name means in greek “thick sand”) is a nice coastal village within a plain with olive trees, at a distance of 20 kilometers southeastern to Agios Nicolaos. Built at the place of the ancient city of Minoa, it is situated on the main road, just before the junction leading to Sitia to the West (50 kilometers far away) and Ierapetra (14 kilometers to the South).
