The Nenita is one of the largest villages of southern Chios with the towers, Kalamoti, Olympi and Mesta. Located 17 kilometers south of Chios town and overlooking the coast of Asia Minor. The name derives from the Greek word "Neoktita" means newly built and reported on farms acquired in the 16th century. The village was built like the other medieval villages Mastichochoria but suffered an earthquake in 1881 and now partially retains the medieval architecture. The paradise is Neniton Vokarias beach, which is very close to Asia Minor. Beside the village is the Neniton Archangels Monastery, founded in 1305.
