Nea Tiryntha: In the past it was named Kofini and it’s barely 6klm away from Nafplio. Do visit the saved ancient city of Tiryntha which was inhabited during the post Neolithic era and the first Helladic years. A complex of palaces, temples, walls, houses, murals, findings, objects and inscriptions in Linear B, ceramics and small statues. It’s probable that Tiryntha and Mycenea were in good relations as they were neighbour cities and Tiryntha was the second base of each Mycenean king. On the northwest part of the city there are two passages that lead to Syrages, which are under-ground springs out of the acropolis.
