Mitropoli, also known as «Paliokastro», (meaning «old castle» in Greek), is situated only 9km. away from Karditsa. It is the head of the homonym municipality with a population of approximately 4,800 inhabitants. It is worth visiting the traditional stone-built bridge joining together the two settlements of Mitropoli and Moshato.
