The mountainous village of Milies, rich in natural beauties, is situated 28km. away from Volos. It is built at an altitude of 400m. All houses follow the traditional architectural style with spring water fountains, many of which have been converted into guesthouses. If you come to Milies, (meaning «apple-trees» in Greek), you must visit the rail station where the steam train of «Moutzouris-Smudgy» reaches its destination.
During summer, several festivals take place here, including the «Milies Night», (in the middle of August), and the «Pear Night», (at the end of August).
