The picturesque town of Methoni is situated in the western part of the prefecture, 60km. away from Kalamata. It has a population of no more than 1,000 inhabitants and its landmark is the Venetian castle being built during the 13th century. In order to enter that castle, you have to cross an impressive, massive bridge. The long, sandy beach is ideal for swimming and relaxation with crystal clear waters.
