The peninsula of Methana is situated in the eastern part of the Peloponnese, among the islands of Argosaronikos. It has a population of approximately 3,000 inhabitants, all occupied in fishing and farming. Even though Methana is mountainous and rocky, its soil is very fertile producing oranges, lemons and some of the best olive oil in Greece.
