Messaria: The small traditional village of Messaria is situated 4km. southeastern of Fira. It is, actually,  one of the main thoroughfare for getting around the island. With a population of approximately 1,000 inhabitants, it is the heart of the Santorini wine, surrounded by gardens and vineyards. All houses are built in the traditional Cycladic architecture, with the most impressive one being that of the «Argyros Mansion». It was built in the year of 1888, belonging to the winemaker George Argyros. In Messaria, the visitor can find several small hotels, tavernas and cafeterias.
