The small village of Mati, (meaning «eye» in Greek), is situated on the east coast of Attica, at the greater Marathon area, only 29km. away from Athens. The sandy beaches are ideal for swimming with crystal clear waters. Here, the visitor can relax away from the crowds, while at the same time, gets a great choice of all kinds of facilities, including hotels, restaurants, fish tavernas, cafeterias, nightclubs and open air cinemas.
Using Mati as a base, the visitor can easily visit all the east coast of Attica, from the ancient Marathon to Cape Sounion, whilst the Rafina Port is the perfect exit point to the Aegean islands.
