The village of Makrynitsa is one of the most beautiful in Pelio. It is situated only 16km. away from Volos and 3km. away from Portaria. Even today, the village retains its traditional colour. There are many old houses, mansions and cobble stoned paths for walking around. In the main square with the small cafeterias, the plain trees provide shade to all visitors. The view from here cannot be described by words. During summer, several festivals are organized by the locals. There is a vast choice of accommodation, hotels and apartemnts, tavernas and bars.
