The prefecture of Magnissia is famous for its numerous natural beauties. The mountain of Pelio, in combination with the picturesque traditional villages attract tourists all year round. Magnissia is a magical place which combines perfectly both mountain and sea. Its name derives from the first settlers in the region, the Magnetes, while it has a population of approximately 198,000 inhabitants.
The airports of Nea Anchialos and the island of Skiathos connect Magnissia with the rest of the world, and the port of Volos links Europe and the Balkans with Asia and Northern Africa.
