The village Lourdata is built in a preferential locality. The dense vegetation and the extents of ground, the waters of Ainou and his mountainous volumes that they protect the gardens from possible winds characterize the region. The Lourdata belong administratively in the municipality Livathous that is extended in the south-western department of the island. The village abstains 16 km from the Argostoli. In the wider region of the municipality because of the very rich in vegetation plains has been developed the vine-growing. Also,there are produced citrus fruits and vegetables of the most excellent quality.  The beach of Lourdata attracts crowd of bathers. Her splendid sandy beach is one of the most extensive in the entire island. Here you will meet local but also visitors that they are glad the sun and the clean sea.  The residents the last years have begun to invest in the tourism. Already in the region are encountered enough units of lodgings. Time with the time the region changes person and evolves in seasonal centre.  Finally, it deserves from us to report that from the Lourdata came Andreas Sfaelos, governor of fleet of 13 boats that took part in the Revolution of 1821 and was killed in the battle of Skouleniou fighting with the chieftain Athanassios Karpenisiotis.
