Livadia is the capital town of Viotia with a population of approximately 35,000 inhabitants. Being built between two hills on the sides of a gorge, Livadia is a big agricultural and commercial center. The water springs of Erkina run through the gorge, while from the top of the hill the visitor can admire the well-preserved medieval castle, dating in the 14th century. The river of Erkina flows through the town and on the south side, there are the water springs of Krya, of unique beauty.
Of great interest is the traditional building of Nerotrivi, on the area of Krya. That building was used for the washing of weavers of carpets. Also, do not forget to visit the Tower clock of the town, built during the years of the Franks. Livadia has all kinds of facilities, including hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, nightclubs and commercial shops.
