On the island there is a taxi service and bus to take you to the beaches near by. Most of them are within walking distance such as the one of Hochlakoura, Kambos, Platis Gialos etc.
Liendou is one of the favorite beaches, due to its proximity to the main settlement.
The name of Lipsi is a very ancient one. With the form of the name «Lipsia» it is encountered on ancient inscriptions.
The landscape is comprised of low hills and small fertile valleys, while the cave of Ontas dominates the setting of the island.
Nightlife is limited to a few cafes and bars. Visitors can find numerous tavernas and restaurants, especially in the main square of Lipsi.
Around the island there are scattered a number of small churches and monasteries. Actually, there are so many that the locals have a saying according to which «there is one church for each family in Lipsi».
