The village belongs to the municipality of Megalopolis, standing 12klm away from it. Leondari is parted from the villages Akova, Anemoduri, Vutsara, Yiannei, Dirahi, Anavritos, Veligosti, Greko and others (20 in the whole). During the domination of Franks the village belonged to Veligosti which was a very important ba-ronage of those times. Due to the strategical geographical location that was built, Veligosti was a trade and com-mandment center of the territory. After its destruction Leondari began developing and for 100 years (1300-1391) it was a commandment base of the Peloponissian lords. The flag that signed the beginning of the Revolution was rai-sed by the daughter of Kostas Zaharias, a fighter who was killed by the Ottomans. His daughter killed the Ottoman lord who was responsible for her father’s death, burned down his house, all of the Ottomanic temples and led the people to the resistance. The territory is full of Byzantine churches, the most outstanding of which is the Agioi Apostoli temple, builted in the 14th century in the center of the village
