Lechena : Lechena are a rich, beautiful and fructuous town. It hardly abstains 39 kilometres from Pirgos and here you can see the house of the big Greek writer Karkavitsas, his bust that adorns the square of Saint Dimitrios but also other sights. Lechena are also a town of Ilia, ex Municipality and from 1999 municipal apartment and seat of Municipality Lechenas. Historical - Foundation with the Royal Decree of 8 April 1835, created the Municipality of Mirtountia, as municipality of province of Ilia with population of about 2.580 residents. Head was defined the Myrtountia, the current Lechaina. The Burgher was named Mirtountios (Lechenitis). The name of municipality emanated from the ancient city Mirsinos, which at the years of Strabon was named Mirtountion. (Μυρτοýντιον.)
The royal Decree of 27 December 1873 transported the seat of Municipality from Lechena to Andrabida. The transport became because it had unfolded epidemic of benediction, while simultaneously there was acted municipal elections. Up to the end of elections was transported also the seat from Lechena.
