Lakkopetra is situated between Araxos and Kato Achaia, 32Km southwest from Patra, exactly on the Araxos cape and the fertile lowland that provides the territory with goods and is famous of the production of potatoes. On the south section of the land and having as a backround the hills the hotel facilities are standing, while on the north part the lowland is extending. The popular beach Mavri Miti which has marvelous fine sand is on the north. Do swim in it. You can view Mesologi from Lakkopetra. On the passage of the sweet water to the sea the Papa lagoon was created, very important aquatic biotope for the ecosystem and a station for immigrating birds from Europe to Afrika. This lagoon is a complex along with the Prokopu lagoon and the Lamias swamp. It’s covering 4500 stremata and is a part of the Natura 2000 net. On the north it neighbours with the Patraikos Gulf and on the south side there is an area of sea water. Strofilia forest is attached to these grounds.
