The capital town of Kozani is situated in the western part of Macedonia, only 15km. away from the artificial lake of Polyfytos. It has a population of approximately 50,000 inhabitants, being surrounded by the mountains of Pieria, Vermio, Bourinos and Askio.More precisely, the town is surrounded by six hills, situated at the valley of the middle section of river Aliakmonas.
The nearest airport is that of Filippos Airport, only 4km. away from the town, while above the lake of Polyfytos stands the longest bridge which can be found in the whole of Greece, (1,372m. long).
Every summer various cultural events take place here, including concerts, theatrical performances and many more. There is, also, a great variety of hotels, apartments, cafeterias, restaurants and commercial shops.
