The town of Kilkis is the capital of the homonymous prefecture, with a population of approximately 17,400 inhabitants. The hill dominating the town is called Ai-Giorgis, («Saint George»), a location of unique beauty. The commercial and agricultural center of Kilkis is full of life and the visitor can find here all kinds of facilities, including hotels, cafeterias, tavernas, commercial shops etc.
The two-floor cave of Agios Georgios is of great interest with unique geological formations and healing qualities.
