Kastoria is one of the most beautiful prefectures in the whole of Greece with a population of approximately 52,000 inhabitants. It is situated in the northwestern side of Macedonia, covered in mountains, (the most important one being that of Grammos).
Its unique, natural beauties attract thousands of visitors every year. A lot of towns and picturesque villages contribute to the beauty of the prefecture, such as Nostimo with its tropical petrified forest or Nestorio with its famous River Party in the gorge of the Aliakmonas river.
For the lovers of ski, there is a fully organized ski center, only 22km. away from the town of Kastoria.
