Built on the eastcoast of the Messenean Gulf, Kardamyli is one of the ancient dorps,as it’s being mentioned by Homer in Iliada as one of the seven towns Agamemnon gifted to Achilleas.The ancient acropolis is 1.5klm away from the sea and 1klm away from the maintown.The town has the architecture of a fortress, while fragments of the Mycenean, Classical, Hellenistic and of course Roman Eras have been found.
