Kamari: The tourist hotspot of Kamari is situated on the southeastern side of the island with the enormous rock of Mesa Vouno in the middle. The area is famous for its green landscape and its beautiful, fully organized beach. Kamari was completely rebuilt after the earthquake in the year of 1956. The long beach is characterized by its black sand and the crystal clear waters. On the beachfront, the visitor can find several hotels, restaurants and bars. There is also a camping, for those preferring to be close to nature. Every year, in August, the Jazz Festival takes place in Kamari, so do not miss it.
