The Kalamitsi abstains 23 km from the city while in distance of 4 km from this settlement there are small sandy beaches and graphic bights. The village is built in the side of the mountain range Ridge and it is characteristic that it does not appear from the sea. It was built in this locality in order to protect the residents from the piratical raids. It is one of the biggest villages of Lefkada. In the village there are cultivated cereals. The 13 mills that exist still in the village reveal aspects of the history of the village and the period that thrived economically. In 1825 was the unique village - except the city - in which functioned a school.
