Very well known is the myth that is reported in the "Miss Frosini". Miss Frosini was a particularly beautiful woman, provocative for her season, also educated of a named family. Their family wedded her with a tradesman “Dimitrios Vasiliou”, which however was very often absent for works. Miss Frosini was not closed in the house waiting for her husband, in order to circulate in the city. It often came out challenging the malignant comments of the closed society, but also the love of Mouhtar, son of Ali Pashas. "Miss Frosini" succumbed, but their love relation as it is reasonable it is not remained concealed. The woman of Mouhtar approached the Ali Pasha, and tells him for the illegal activity of his son and she asked of him «to punish the faithless". The Ali Pashas, that had falls in love with the beautiful woman, promised her that he would take after of this subject and he undertook it personally. He went to the house of Miss Frosinis and he arrested her as adulterer. And in order to not accused that it did this with base personal motives, he arrested also 17 other women of disputed ethics. The women were condemned in death "via throat'" in the lake of Ioannina. They drowned all these women in the night of 11th January 1801. The corpse of Miss Frosinis as well as certain from the other 17 women was found in the coastline of the lake, and then some people made their graves. The church acclaimed these women kallimartires, while the population never convinced that it was implementation of condemnations, but for victims of one still terror activity of Ali Pashas. The popular tradition and the municipal songs never forget the unusual ferocity and the myth that it moves our passions until today goes bigger with the passage of years.
