Ia: Ia is the most famous village on the island, situated 11km. north from the capital town. It is worldwide known for its astonishing sunset. The traditional village is covered in pretty houses, narrow streets and picturesque churches. Ia, has also a small port, called Ammoudi, reachable by a set of 300 steps leading down. From there, the visitor can take a boat in order to visit the opposite island of Thirassia.
