The small town of Hiliadou is situated in the north central part of the island. The name of the town derives from a small church, built close to the beach. In the older years, it used to be an area for pirates. The coast in the region is divided into small, separated parts by the mountain Dirfi, while the beautiful sandy beach is surrounded by a series of mountains, ideal for swiiming and relaxation under the sun. Hiliadou is a settlement unknown to most tourists with a few hotels and traditional, small tavernas.
