Giannitsa: Giannitsa is the largest town in the prefecture of Pella with a population of approximately 26,000 inhabitants. It is a significant agricultural center, situated only 40km. away from Thessaloniki. Giannitsa has been built on the site of a former lake. Throughout the town, the visitor may find several Ottoman remains, such as old houses and a single watchtower. Worth of visiting is, also, the park of Saint Georgios where one can enjoy the ponds, small rivers and bridges.
Every year various cultural events are organized here, including the annual fair running for two weeks every September.
