Gavrio: Gavrio is situated 31km. to the west-north of the town of Andros. It is the first settlement seen by the visitor when arriving on the island. Gavrio is the only active port connecting Andros to Rafina.
It used to be a traditional fishing village, while today several cafeterias, rooms to let and tavernas can be found here.
At the south of Gavrio there are the beaches of Xylokarida, Kipri and Psili Ammos. Also, on the same direction the visitor can find the amazing tower of Agios Petros, which might have been used as an observatory.
