Galissas: The village of Galissas is situated on the western part of the island, only 7km. away from Ermoupolis. The visitor can find here various hotels, camping places, tavernas and bars.
The sandy beach is ideal for swimming, covered with salty pine trees. It is the most popular resort of Symos with various water-sports to choose from. The sea is perfect for families with children since the waters are shallow. The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag and is preferred by many windsurfers.
The remains of a Venetian castle and the beautiful in-cave chapel of Agios Stefanos are also worth visiting.
