Delfi is situated on the southwestern spur of mountain Parnassus in the valley of Fokida. About 15km. away, one can find the harbor town of Kirrha. With a population of approximately 2,000 inhabitants, Delfi is one of the most beautiful landscapes of Greece and the center, («omphalos»), of the world, according to the ancient myth. After the excavation in the year of 1892, the new town was transferred 1km. to the west. The visitor can find here all types of facilities, including hotels, cafeterias, restaurants and cute tourist shops. There is also a camping site close to the ancient town of Delfi.
Additionally, Delfi is home to the European Cultural Center, an international organization that sponsors various cultural conferences and symposia.
