Astakos, (meaning lobster in Greek), is a picturesque market town, situated 50km. northwest of Messologi. It has a population of approximately 2,500 inhabitants and the visitor can find here several hotels, tavernas, cafeterias and commercial shops. The unspoiled, sandy beaches are ideal for swimming and relaxation. Daily, boats travel to the beautiful islands of Kefalonia and Ithaki.
