Arkasa is located on the southwestern part of the island, approximately 16 km from the capital Karpathos Town (or Pigadia). It has two beautiful beaches on the Paleokastro peninsula, where the ancient city of Arkesia, from which today's village name originates, was located. Arkasa combines past and present in a developing tourist centre that facilitates everything a modern visitor can ask for.
