Archangelos is a picturesque fishing village in the south of the prefecture of Laconia. It is situated 98 km from the prefecture’s capital city, Sparti, and has approximately 100 inhabitants.
Its natural beauty and crystal clear waters make Archangelos an ideal destination for those who wish to have relaxed holidays but also for water sports’ fans. There are hotels, and self- catering apartments, tavernas, cafes and bars.
Visitors should not forget to take a swim in Charakia, near Archangelos, a 3 km long sandy beach. Archangelos can be used as a base for daily excursions to other places of interest in Laconia, like the byzantine fortress - town of Mistras, Monemvasia, Mani, Diros cavern, the village Plitra, where visitors can see the underwater remains of the ancient city of Asopos and the island Elafonisos where the famous beach Simos in located.
