Amorgos Chora: Amorgos Chora stands 400m. above sea level, situated in the central eastern part of the island. Hidden behind the mountains, it is dominated by a 13th century venetian castle. It is a quite village with a population of approximately 500 inhabitants. The port impresses every visitor with its graphic and traditional architecture, something which can be seen throughout the settlement. The paved main square of Plateia Loza is full of little cafeterias lying under the shadow of the enormous eucalyptus trees.
In the capital, the visitor can admire the forty churches or walk around through the narrow lanes. Here, the smallest church in all of Greece can be found, with room for just three people.
The beaches near the village are known for their clear waters, the best being those of Agia Anna and the one of Kambi. In the Chora there is a great choice of tavernas, bars and cafeterias.
