Aghios Mamas is a small town of 1.000 inhabitants, located 22 km from Chalkidiki’s capital, Polygyros. Approximately 2 km on the southwest is the long, sandy beach of Aghios Mamas, which attracts many tourists . On the town’s west, archaeologists discovered a cemetery of the early Copper Age.

The location is called Toumba of Aghios Mamas and evidence of architecture and pottery indicate that it has been inhabited from the end of the Neolithic period until the Iron Age. Nowadays, Aghios Mamas is famous for its traditional feast in September.
