The village of Agia, (meaning «Saint» in Greek), is situated east of the town of Larissa, with a population of approximately 6,400 inhabitants. Agia is the capital of the homonymous province, dominated by the Mavrovouni Mountains.
Every year, during the first week of September, the apple festival takes place here. For seven days, a large variety of apples and apple products are presented to the people. During the first day free apples, pies and other products are given out to the visitors.
Agia offers several tavernas and cafeterias.
